Wig Care
-
Put it on - Hold the wig on the left and right like a bowl in your hands. Tip forwards and bring towards your head whilst lowering your head towards it. Once on, pull down just in front of your ears and then at the back. Remove and adjust straps until it feels secure on your head. Adjust back and forward and left and right until the root line sits in the centre of your crown and your face isn't overwhelmed with hair.
-
Titivate it - Your wig needs titivating! It makes such a difference! Spend time running your fingers through your wig once on your head. Move sections of the hair, twist, lift and also sweep the fringe down, left or right until you're happy.

-
Trim it - If the fringe or length of the wig isn't working for you, trim it. There are many hairdressers that are willing to trim a wig, particularly when you haven't spent hundreds of pounds on it. You may also feel you can cautiously trim it yourself whilst the wig is on the stand. Katie adjusted the length of her fringe by just a couple of millimeters at a time and kept trying it on to check the length. Please note - we can't accept returned wigs that have been trimmed! All our wigs have fringes and that's because we feel this is a key factor in them looking and feeling so real.

-
Clean it - There are several products available online for wig cleaning. You can also use half a cap of clothing softener in a large bowl of cool water. Mix into the water, let you wig swirl gently and then rinse it with cool water. Gently squeeze out the water.
-
Let it breath - dry your wig on the stand. It is designed with an open frame to allow air to flow in and around it.
You can also do this when it needs a quick freshen up after picking up an unwanted scent. Your wig will dry quickly if left somewhere dry and warm or a safe space outdoors.

-
Comb it - use your wide toothed comb to brush your wig. Lay it on a flat surface such as your bed. Hold the top and gently comb through, particularly at the base of the neck. We don't recommend combing whilst you are wearing the wig.Sprays are available at several online suppliers that can help protect the fibres of your wig.

Take Control
-
Be confident - Decide on your new look or looks, and put them out into the world! Send pictures to friends and family or put them on socials so people can see the new you.
-
Try out something new - seize the opportunity to try out new looks. Bright lipsticks and bold eye make up may not be the old you but they can really make a big difference when wearing a wig. Try it, you might be surprised!
-
Explore your wardrobe - some of your clothes might not work so well and others may really enhance your new look. Take time to reassess your wardrobe or buy something new that compliments your new look and makes you feel amazing!

-
Take it off - take time off from your wig. Brave the bald, wear your turban or pop on a cap with hair. Sometimes wearing a wig can feel like a long day in a bra, give yourself space if you need to!
